Biography
After completing a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences at Newcastle University, I studied for an MRes in Translational Cancer Medicine at King’s College London. I was involved in developing different cancer immunotherapies including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-based T-cells and gamma delta T-cells against both solid and haematological malignancies. I began my DPhil at the Univerity of Oxford in October 2017 and am working in the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine as part of Ben Fairfax’s research group.
Research
My research focuses on differential DNA methylation in immune cells upon exposure to various inflammatory stimuli and immune checkpoint proteins. I am particularly interested in the interplay between the immune system and cancer and the putative application it has for immunotherapy.
