Matthew Jackson

Postdoctoral Researcher in Host-Microbial Interactions

I am bioinformatician specialising in the analysis of microbiome data. I completed my PhD at King's College London, where I used population-based cohort studies to identify associations between the composition of the gut microbiome and various aspects of human disease.

My current research within the Powrie group is focused on the integration of different 'meta-omic' data sets to identify the mechanisms underlying host-microbe interactions and how they might influence disease progression. In particular, I am interested in understanding the longitudinal dynamics of the gut microbiome during the development of inflammatory bowel disease.
