Michalina Mazurczyk

BSc. MSc.

Flow/Mass Cytometry Specialist

I run the Mass Cytometry Facility which is embedded in the Human Immunology Unit of the WIMM. My main role is to help researchers with all aspects of projects conducted in the facility including experimental planning, panel design, protocol optimisation, troubleshooting and data analysis. I also cover the scheduling of work, assist in project planning and project management, resolve technical issues and ensure finances are in order.

My academic qualifications include a BSc in Biotechnology, a BSc in Microbiology, and a MSc degree in Genetics. Throughout studying for these degrees I undertook several internships at various clinics and research labs to enhance my knowledge and experience. Before moving to Oxford I worked in the FACS Facility at the University of Liverpool where I was trained in flow cytometry and mass cytometry.

My current role entails working closely with researchers, both internal and external to the WIMM, to ensure that their research is performed to the highest standards. To ensure this I provide extensive training including panel design, sample preparation and the operation of the mass cytometer.

My personal goal in this role is to keep users’ satisfaction to the highest level.

If you are interested in starting a new mass cytometry project, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
